Weekly Update 12/14-12/17

Hello to everyone!

Big news this week is I am in still quarantine!  I sent out an email twice to all families, but I don’t think everyone got it…it may be in your junk mail. On Tuesday, I was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID. So, I am in quarantine until December 22^nd. So far, I have no symptoms. Hopefully it will remain that way. Mrs. Hecht is our sub, and she is WONDERFUL! She is a former teacher, and has a special superpower in Math instruction, so your kids are definitely in good hands.

I am going to do some one on one assessing this week via Teams, so I will be touching base with all students this week!

Here are this week’s announcements:

*We will begin our next unit of sight words when we return to school in January. Kids will have a spelling test on December 16, then no new sound out spelling list until we return from Christmas break.

*I will be assessing each child in the reading of their unit 1 sight word list this week. I will start on Tuesday, so please have them review reading all the unit 1 sight words on Monday evening.

*Friday, December 18^th is our last day of school before Christmas Break. We return to school on Monday, January 4^th.

*Grinch Day is Friday (THIS IS A SURPRISE!!! Please do not tell your child.) We will watch the Grinch movie (the Jim Carrey one) on Friday, and have a pizza movie snack. The only thing your child needs to bring for the snack is their favorite drink to go with their pizza!

*Did you know…the free lunch program has been extended to the end of the year for ALL students. Great news!

*This week is holiday dress-up week at Willow Creek! Here are the dress-up/theme days:

Weekly Update 12/7-12/11

Hello to everyone!

Here are this week’s announcements:

*We will begin our next unit of sight words when we return to school in January. Your child will still have their weekly sound-out spelling list test this week (December 9) and next week (December 16). There just will not be any sight words.

*On Friday, your child brought home a moongazer and an at-home assignment to observe the moon. This at-home activity is due Thursday, December 17th. 

*Did you know…the free lunch program has been extended to the end of the year for ALL students. Great news!

*Friday, December 18^th is our last day of school before Christmas Break. We return to school on Monday, January 4^th.

*We will have a holiday party on Friday, December 18^th. More information to come later this week.
