Weekly Update 11/5-11/9

Happy Monday, everyone!

After a couple of busy weeks, this week will be “normal”. Here is this week’s important information

*Students will bring home a Subway order form tomorrow (Monday).  It is due this Thursday.  Subway Day will be Friday, November 16th!

*Thanksgiving vacation is Monday, November 19-Friday, November 23.  We will return to school on Monday, November 26th.

*Our class won the Golden Shoe! That means that our class had the most Creek Cruiser laps out of all first grade classes!  We are excited to have the Golden Shoe in our class this month!

*I will be at a conference in Atlanta with a team of teachers from Willow Creek next week. I will be absent Monday-Thursday. I will be back Friday, November 16th. Mrs. Hecht will be our substitute. Mrs. Hecht is a good friend of mine, and was a teacher for many years.  She is looking forward to spending a few days with our class!  While I am gone, you can continue to email me, and I will get back with you. Any urgent messages need to go directly to the office, and they will relay the message to Mrs. Hecht.

*Our school collects Box tops. If you have any Box tops at home, please turn them in at your convenience. Thank you!

*Last week we completed a painting project, and I noticed we are short on watercolor paper. We sure would appreciate a donation! Watercolor paper is a heavy duty type of paper that soaks in the watercolors, as opposed to the paint puddling on top of the paper, and making a big mess. The heavier the paper, the better!  Here is the kind I get:

* Here is a book that would go along nicely with our current Social Studies unit, My World and Me. We would love to have this book to read, if anyone is interested in donating it to our class!
